Lovely project for a new premium Deli-Coffee Shop in Bucharest focused on authentic Mediterranean food.
The Mediterranean Sea is very familiar with Romanians, since more than half of the coutry’s population spends their holidays around it. The owner wanted to encapsulate the holiday feeling in a city environment. I worked together with the interior design architect and the owner herself to bring this idea to life. It’s very very helpful to have a client that knows precisely what she wants. We paid a great deal of attention to define the colour palette because we had to match the natural colours of the concept with the materials available on the market, from ceramic tiles to lightbox foil. I made the original illustrations with acrylic inks, to add a relaxed and no-worries feeling. The result is a very warm and evocative place in a non-expressive neighbourhood that looks “thirsty” for this kind of space. And for a perfect cold brew tonic.
